FARMHOUSE DORSET
A complete scheme of refurbishment and extensions to a substantial Dorset farmhouse, including the construction of a two storey Front Entrance Hall and bedroom above and a new single storey Kitchen extension to the rear with a patent glazed roof.
Existing rooms were all sympathetically restored using period joinery, plaster cornices, oak and tiled flooring.
A totally new Central heating system was installed served by a ground source heat pump, utilising a new borehole which also provided a new water supply to the property.
The exterior of the building was completely overhauled with Chimney & Roofing repairs together with full external and internal decorations.
A substantial program of external works was also undertaken to include new drainage and a Biodisc Sewage treatment plant as well as re-profiling and terracing of the Kitchen Garden area.
Architect: Ian Freeman
Engineer: John Crompton, Sturminster Newton
